What this policy covers

This policy explains what happens to data when you use Result Spinner at https://resultspinner.com. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, ask us on thecontact page and we will fix the wording.

The lists you type stay on your device

The wheel runs entirely in your browser. Your entries, saved lists, participation counts, draw history, and settings are written to your browser's local storage, which is a private area on your own computer or phone. That data is never transmitted to us, because there is no server to transmit it to. This site is a set of static files.

Two practical consequences. First, we cannot see your student names, giveaway entrants, or anything else you put on a wheel. Second, we cannot recover any of it for you. If you clear your browser data, it is gone.

To delete everything the site has stored, clear site data for this domain in your browser settings, or use the Delete button on a saved list and the Clear button in the results panel.

Share links

When you press Copy Link, the whole wheel is encoded into the part of the URL after the# symbol. Browsers do not send that part to any server, so a shared wheel travels inside the link itself. Anyone who has the link can see the entries in it, so treat a share link the same way you would treat the list it contains.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for the purposes described in the sections below. Local storage, which holds your wheel data, is a separate mechanism and is not shared with anyone.

Advertising

This site currently shows no ads and runs no ad scripts. If that changes, this section will be updated before any advertising code is added, and it will describe the cookies used, the personalization controls available to you, and how to opt out.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. IP addresses are anonymized. We do not send your wheel entries, saved lists, or draw results to Analytics, because that data never leaves your browser in the first place.

Fonts

Typefaces are served from this domain, not from Google Fonts or any other font host. Loading a page therefore sends your IP address to nobody but this site. If that ever changes, this section will say so first.

Children

Teachers use this tool with classes, so it is worth being clear: the site does not ask anyone for a name, an email address, an age, or a login, and it has no way to collect personal information from a child. Entries typed into the wheel stay on the teacher's own device.

Your rights

Because we do not hold your data, most data rights requests have a very short answer: there is nothing on our side to access, correct, export, or erase. The data is on your device and under your control. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will look.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the honest signal.
